June…a little less busy…

There was not a whole lot that happened in June, other than on the weekends. First weekend was spent celebrating Tyson’s birthday. He turned 4, and the theme for his party was Price Is Right. It was such a great party, Brittany did an amazing job preparing for it. I have a great video that I wanted to share but it was too big to load in here.

The next weekend, on the Friday, a group of us went to Eli’s BBQ for dinner. For anyone who plans to come visit the area again, you have to check this place out. The food is so good! We got to catch up with Seymur and Kelsi who were in from Texas. It was so great to see them. We all had not seen them since the wedding. The next day we ended up going to a movie with them, to an escape room, and to Dave and Buster’s. It was an eventful weekend. The escape room was not a success for us. It was Cincinnati themed and focused a lot around baseball, something which none of us really follow. I do not know if we could even complete the room now, even with knowing where we struggled.

The third weekend we went to the Reds game on the Friday night with Aaron’s co-workers from his previous job. Then on Saturday night we DJ’d Kayla and Brad’s wedding. It was so hot that day, and the ceremony was outside. You were sweating when you walked outside. The reception was a lot of fun. Always helps when you know the couple getting married. I’m more inclined to get up on the dance floor with everyone. Sunday was Father’s day, so we went and watched our nephew Logan play baseball. His team beat a team that had won every game of the season. After the game, we went for lunch with Aaron’s dad, Sandy and Logan. That night the 5 of us went to the Florence Freedom baseball game.

Final weekend in June, we stayed in on the Friday night as we had to get up early on the Saturday morning for the 5th Annual LCPL Adam D. Peak Memorial Golf Outing. This was our most successful year yet for this golf outing. Josh, Jim and I helped Caleb with reaching out to companies and people for donations, and we nearly doubled our profits from last year. The money made goes to scholarships at Thomas More in Adam’s name. As I have mentioned in previous blog posts, I never got to meet Adam as he was killed a year before I had met Aaron, but of all the stories I have heard, I know that we would have been great friends. I am so happy to be a part of helping Caleb who was best friends with Adam.
