Friday rant!!

Sooo...I didn't make it to the Etiquette Dinner last night and was I ever ticked off!  Aaron had called me earlier in the afternoon to say that he forgot his supper in the fridge and asked if I could bring it to him before I went to the school.  I had no problem with that, it's not like it was that far out of my way, and it's just something we do for one another.

I pull up to the front of his building shortly after 4pm and parking enforcement is out front.  The guy tells me to leave, so I told him that Aaron was going to be right down, and he got all smart with me and said that he didn't care and to move on. My window was down at this point and I said to him "are you kidding me?" and he replies with "keep talking back and I'll give you a ticket."  Of course I had a smart ass reply I wanted to say to him but I pulled away from the building. I was so mad.

By the time I was able to get over in the traffic (since a lot of the roads downtown are one way), I was about 3 or 4 blocks from Aaron's work.  It was about 20 after 4 by the time I was able to get Aaron his supper and I figured I still had more than enough time to get to the school.  Well, people wouldn't let me over when I needed to, so I ended up having to take I-75 South, and all I could see that traffic was a complete stand still.  It took me an hour to go less than a mile, which barely made me get across the river back into Kentucky.

At this point it seemed as though people were a lot nicer and letting people get over, so I was able to take the very first exit off the bridge, which then brought me into Ludlow, an area I have only been into once.  Aaron had to talk me through on the phone how to get around Ludlow and Covington, and managed to get me on another bridge to take me back into Cincinnati.  At this point I was so done with traffic everywhere I just wanted to go home, I didn't care about going to Flashdance.  I finally pulled up to Aaron's office and was so frustrated that I couldn't even park parallel at a meter that I just stopped where I was. Which of course pissed the people off behind me, and I didn't care cause at that point I hated everyone out there. The car ahead of that spot was leaving so I finally pulled into a meter spot, and I just got out of the car and started walking away.  I could not be in a vehicle for another minute.  So I ended up walking around the block which gave me some time to cool down a little bit and just try and relax.

The two most frustrating parts were committing to something and not being able to get there to even apologize for being late, and being in a city where you only know the major roots to get around.  By the time I got back around the block Aaron was still in the car, and we just went to a bar near the Aronoff where the play was, as I just wanted a drink. Yes, you read that right, I wanted a drink.  The guy had barely put my beer on the table when I was already pretty much chugging it.  Needless to say, after a couple drinks I was feeling pretty good and wasn't feeling so bothered by everything.  Funny how it works like that.  We then went to the play, which was really good, much better then Ghost.  We figure that the shows are just going to get better as the season goes on.  Next up, How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the end of November. I am super excited for that one!!
