Water World

Wow, what a week! That’s all I have to say. The week itself wasn’t that bad, I went to all my classes, managed to squeeze in a couple chiropractor appointments and a nice one and half hour massage – which I definitely needed! Wrote my very first tests in Psychology and World Civilization, both on Friday morning. So needless to say I was trying to time manage the best I could to make sure I studied enough for both classes to feel confident that I would at least pass. Well, I am happy to report that I got an 88% on my World Civ. test! I should have got at least 92, but I changed a couple answers the more I sat and stared at the page, and I shouldn’t have. Lucky for me, we have bonus quizzes almost weekly, so those extra marks add to my 88 giving me 102% right now, whoop!! It’s early, but this test gave me a little more comfort and confidence in this class. As for Psychology, we didn’t get the marks back today as he said he had another class writing the same test tomorrow morning and he didn’t want 35 tests floating around out there. He gave us the option to come up and check our marks at the end of class, but I opted out and decided to wait a couple more days. Hopefully it’s not too bad. I don’t think it will be as good as World Civ. but I am pretty sure I at least passed. He said the class average was 66%, so that isn’t really that good. Fingers crossed!!

On to the weekend – Friday night we went to this Derf Happy Hour, which is a magazine that hosts happy hours every now and then. I believe the intent of them is to get people socializing and meeting new people, but in our case, and I think in most cases, according to Aaron, that doesn’t ever really happen. At least not when he has gone.  Our group was a total of 8, so we already had a lot of our own friends to talk with and watch the Reds ball game. Then after that was done around 10pm we headed to downtown Cincinnati to this bar called Play. Let’s just say this is a place I was going to when I was 19/20, with the techno type music and black lights. I’m not sure if this is a regular occurrence at this place, but you could get painted. A lot of people were wearing white and you’d go in this room and get all painted up, kind of reminded me of the Color Me Rad run, although it wasn’t powder paint, the stuff I seen anyways was liquid form. Anyways, let’s just say it was a pretty young crowd and 4 of us were trying to make the most out of it because one other specific person wanted to be at this place. Which, it was his night out for his birthday, so that’s what we did. That’s what friends do for each other, right?? Well, that’s what I thought. I guess it wasn’t quite good enough when Aaron and I left for maybe 45 minutes to hit up Skyline Chili because I was starving. I had been hungry for about 4 hours before, so at this point, I wanted something now. And, we were coming back to finish the night there. Long story short, there was some drama with the birthday boy, and I had to bite my tongue on a lot of things that I wanted to say, but just didn’t because it wasn’t my battle to fight.

The night ended at 2am, and I had to get up for school that morning. My lovely Theology class. Which, I am actually finding to be pretty interesting, and I am thinking I might actually do ok on my midterm exam in a couple of weeks. Anyways, I go to leave school at noon and called Aaron, as I wanted to see if there were any last minute things I needed to pick up for his nephew’s party that we were hosting that afternoon at 1pm. I didn’t really get to ask, as he informed me that the basement had a few inches of water in the basement and that he was waiting for a call from a plumber. Keep in mind, in less than an hour we were going to have anywhere from 10-15 little kids running around the backyard along with almost everyone in Aaron’s family. The party was a complete success, even with this huge issue. I had also noticed that afternoon that the hot water wasn’t working, so we didn’t have hot water until about 10:30 Sunday morning. All I have to say is that we must love water! First our BBQ is rained out a couple weeks ago, then we get about 3 inches of rain in less than 12 hours causing the basement to flood.

Yesterday it almost seemed like we were putting off the clean-up, but we had to pick up some cleaning stuff and more tubs to store the stuff in once it was cleaned. We also met a couple to talk about their wedding music as Aaron is DJing the wedding on October 5th. I feel so bad for this bride. The night before her fiancé went out on his bachelor party and fell off a curb because he was pretty drunk, and he was on crutches when we met them. You could see how pissed off she was. I was almost scared. They were going to a doctor after meeting with us, so I am not sure if it is actually broken or sprained. I’m not sure what would be best for the guy, but hopefully it’s not too bad. I guess I will see in a couple weeks when I go to the reception with Aaron.

Anyways, I can’t believe I didn’t mention this! Some of you might know, but we rented a SpongeBob Bouncy house for Logan’s birthday. It was a hit!! What a perfect memorable day for him.

And, we did a little fixing on our fridge last night!! The one shelf was missing so we made our own.
